If you are anything like me, you love to go out and have a day on the water, spend some time with your kids, catch a few fish, and have stories to tell on Monday morning.
A good quality inflatable boat can help make this dream a reality.
Keeping your convenience in mind we submit for your perusal our BRIS inflatable boat review.

Why the Bris Inflatable Boat?
Bris is an old player in the inflatable boating game. They have a good range of proven quality inflatable boats. For this review, we were provided with the flagship 15’4’’ long Rescue & Dive Inflatable Raft Power Boat.
And we will start with…

Construction
Without any doubt, this is the most important aspect to consider when purchasing an inflatable boat. You want a boat that can cope with a bit of abuse. And, Bris is clearly up for the task. It is super strong yet surprisingly light for its size.
Fabric
The fabric is 1.2 mm thick. This fabric is made with a 2000 denier yarn. These kinds of synthetic fabrics give construction durability without compromising flexibility. On top of that, the fabric is coated with synthetic polyester material. This gives it protection from almost all kinds of wear and tear.
You might have come across 11000 dtex or greater in the market. We have experienced both, and we feel that the 11000 dtex is not much better than the 2000 dtex especially when the fabric is coated with other materials. So the extra costs may not provide you additional durability.
Seams
We all want heat welding, and BRIS gave us that. Most of the welding points have a quadruple overlapping fold of the fabric. This is the maximum. You can not have better than this.
Transom
Like all great inflatable boats, this one also features a marine-grade plywood transom. Thus you have the best support you need for your motor.
Tube Bottom
We mentioned before that you are getting a 1.2 mm thick fabric. However, in the bottom part of the tube, you will find double that, which means a 2.4 mm thickness. That provides a really thick layer of protection for those rougher ground encounters.
Keel
It has the standard V-shaped keel that all high-quality boats seem to possess. Other than the thick fabric, you will also have rub-strake protection here. So drag it as much as you want. It will not falter. Another exclusive feature is the five chambers of the keel.
Floor
You need a floor that you can have a good grip on. Without being able to stand up firmly on your boat, you can say goodbye to that fish we talked about earlier. That’s why BRIS manufacturers added ragged aluminium to give maximum support when standing.
Convenient features
Here are some of the features that make this BRIS inflatable boat even more cherishable.
Drain valves
These valves are positioned strategically in the boat. You can use a plug to control the one-way valves.
D-rings
Many beginners don’t realize the importance of these rings. You will have eleven of them on the BRIS inflatable boat. Two of them positioned on the bow and read of the boat for towing purposes. They are made with heavy-duty stainless steel. So, no rusting, no wear.
Oarlock:
There is an oarlock system that allows you to rest your hand and gives you more authority over the boat.
Safety ropes
Most BRIS inflatable boat reviews don’t even mention it. There is a badass-looking black rope all-around the boat that gives you more support in the water.
Splash guard:
You will have splash guards on the rear that will protect your transom from UV rays and saltwater.
Handles
There are handles in convenient positions to make the boat more maneuverable and safer for you and your passengers especially when the going gets rough.
Tow rings
Easy-to-use tow rings make moving with the inflated boat much easier.
Tools and accessories
Here is a list of accessories that you will have with your boat-
- Three beaches
- Two oars
- Carry bag
- Foot pump
The oars and benches are all made of durable aluminium. The carry bag is as durable as the boat. So it will last all of the boat’s life.
However, I was not too fond of the foot pump. How on earth did BRIS think that we were going to step on a pump again and again in front of everyone for hours? Personally, I would invest in a hand or electric pump.
Capacity
This is a big boat. In the 15 feet 4 inch boat you can house nine adults. In pounds, you can have up to 2094 lb on the boat. I know you are never going to have that much load in your boat yet it should be mentioned just for the sake of accuracy.
Motor
Manufacturers say that you can have a 35hp motor with the boat. That, of course, means you are not going to get it with the boat. And, you shouldn’t also expect it at this price. We tested the boat with a 25 hp motor and it did the job just fine.
Pros
- Good for the money
- Large capacity
- Well-thought-out design
- Good for fishing and cruising
- Good for professional use
- Very durable
- Heavy-duty construction
- All kinds of convenient features
- Easy maneuverability and control
Cons
- Foot pump
- The instruction manual is not well constructed

Frequently Asked Questions
We get a lot of queries. Most of them are from new boaters. So here is a list of answers that solves your common questions.
Q: What is Dtex?
A: It is a unit of measurement in textiles. Dtex, denier, deci-tex all are synonymous words. It counts the weight of 10 kilometers of yarn. If you say 2000 dtex, it means that 10 kilometers of that particular yarn weight is about 2000 grams.
Q: How can I get the statement of origin of this boat?
A: Statement of origin papers will come with the boat.
Q: What should be the shaft size?
A: It has a short shaft transom so your motor shaft should be under 15 inches.
Q: Can I install a center console?
A: The boat is not built for that. If you are having problems controlling the high power motor, then switch to a low one.
Q: What motor power do you recommend?
A: It actually depends on your regular payload. Most of you won’t have more than 4-5 people on board. In that case, you can have 25-30 Hp motor for maximum value though you can have more if you can handle the power.
Q: What bimini top do you recommend for the boat?
A: People generally use 6-8 feet top for that. You can have the same.
Q: How many colors of the boat are available?
A: It only comes in black.
Q: Can I put a remote steering wheel on it?
A: Yes, you can, but you will lose a lot of space.
Q: What PSI would you recommend for the boat?
A: About 2.5 to 3 psi would be fine.
